A Director and Writer
I am interested in creating performance driven work; pieces that explore human relationships, our animalistic psyche, mental health and gender identity.

This is me
I am a London based film maker who has recently graduated from London Film Academy. Prior to this I studied film making and acting for two years at The Arts Educational Schools. My desire to direct film comes from my love, understanding and appreciation for acting and the actors process. I recently wrapped on a short film that I wrote, directed and produced ‘From One Empty Nest to Another’ which I aim to take to festivals alongside ‘WoMum’ – another short that is currently in pre production.

Work with me
I look to collaborate with like minded, determined writers, theatre makers and film makers and am not specific about what the project is. I am as invested in marketing material and music videos as I am film and TV as long as it communicates my values and creative vision.
I personally create work that focuses on human relationships, our psyche, instincts and ways of being. I am interested how gender roles and mental health affect these and how these all feed into wider society. I enjoy storytelling through hyper realistic acting and believe in subtle cinema to best reflect this.
Below are some of my more recent works:

WoMum
WoMum is a short film that I co-wrote and am
Directing that is currently in Production. The
project is being produced by female lead Candid
Broads Productions and will feature well known
and widely credited actors Bronagh Waugh,
Ceallach Spellman and Sèverine Howell-Meri.

WoMum tells the story of Single mother Sofia,
whose relationship with abusive partner Guy
has just come to a climactic end, and her 22 year
old son Liam, who supports her in the aftermath.
Sofia, who has always felt that she needed a man
to rely on and that without one she is only half a
person, hits rock bottom as she begins to lean on
her own son as he comforts and looks after her.
With Liam imminently moving out to live with his
girlfriend and seek independence Sofia is forced
to come to the realisation that she is pretty strong
herself and now must strive for independence and
a growing self worth.

The film is supported by Solace Women's Aid
Foundation and is currently in the search of
funding. If you are at all interested in supporting
this project please get in touch!! THANK YOU!

From One Empty Nest to Another

'Empty Nest' is the story of two women. It is a study of a
female relationship, between mother and daughter Lily and
Dianne. Within the dialogue you see Lily and Dianne
competing and fighting for control, despite the fact that what
they are saying is predominantly affectionate. This passive
aggression, however, is just a mask for two desperate and
lonely people with a huge disconnect, unable to grow closer
due to geography and other commitments. It is the story of
two people who are victims to the cycle of life and the
inevitable parting of family.

Secondly it is a study of parent/ child relationships and the
issue of dependency. The film touches on the difficult balance
that most encounter at middle age of trying to simultaneously
raise your own family and support your parents. The balance
of finding your own new identity and either maintaining
or breaking the identity you were given as a child. And
alongside these often the detachment that comes with the guilt
of not managing to give your parents the due time and
attention they deserve and so instead putting them in a box
and and adding them to you weekly, monthly or in the case of
Lily and Dianne, yearly check list.

Finally, the film explores the concept of empty nest syndrome
and the conflicting feelings one has as a parent; the joy in
watching your children fly the nest, and the loneliness and
emptiness that comes with their being gone. And despite the
fact that Lily has been through this and Dianne is approaching
it the two women do not connect with their shared experience.

That's All

'That's All' is a 'super short' that was shot on super
16mm film on the Arri Flex 416. It is a satirical film
that comments on people’s lack of understanding in
regards to mental health. The film is based around
several conversations that I had with my father
when I was struggling with anorexia myself. My aim
when writing the script and directing the actors was
to make the scene uncomfortable to watch. Slightly
jarring and absurd. This concept is reflected in the
purple sky, the sky is as strange as the concept that
it is ‘that’ easy to ‘fix’ a mental illness.
One worry I had about the script was that I thought
there was a possibility that the film could be read as
me truly saying that it IS that easy. Which of course is
the total opposite of what I was trying to say. But I
was really thrilled by the actors stylised, over
dramatic and sarcastic performances which I feel
unsettle the viewer and unearths the true intention of
the script. Of course it’s not that easy to fix anorexia,
that’s absurd! Is the sky purple?

Hatchling
Hatchling is currently in pre-production with filming due to take place in the summer of 2022.
It's a short 6 page script that I wrote which tells the story of a young girl becoming aware of her sexual appeal and navigating the male attention and power that comes with it.
